Help Needed (10/9): Rochester

If you can lift and carry 50 pounds, we need volunteers to help unload and deliver bagged horse feed in Rochester, VT this Sunday, October 9 at approximately 11:30am (in Rochester).

We have received grant funds from US Equine Disaster Relief and donations to support horse owners that were hit hard by Irene via horse feed and forage extender.  Guys Farm and Yard has agreed to deliver it, and Poulin Grain has made additional generous donations.  If you are able to join us to help unload and/or load this feed this weekend, please let me know.  We will have over 6 tons of feed to move, and about 1/4 of that will need to be walked across the foot bridge that connects Rte 100 to Rte 73.

If you can handle 50# bags, and can be in Rochester by 11:00-11:15am on Sunday, please email me with names and contact information at Betsy.Greene@uvm.edu before Friday (Oct 7) at noon.

If you need a ride, we may be able to accommodate, however, you will need to verify by Friday by 5:00pm that you will actually be there at Jeffords parking lot on Sunday at 9:30am to prevent unnecessary waiting for no-shows by drivers.
