An Important Pause

An important pause to remember the two lives lost in Rutland during Irene.
A community, state, and industry mourns the loss of two of our associates.
All of us at Vermont Rural Water Association express our condolences to the Garofano family.  Mike Sr. and Mike Jr., while working together on Sunday August 28, both lost their lives while inspecting water system infrastructure during Tropical Storm Irene.  We are thinking of their family and the Rutland community at this challenging time.  Mike Sr. always invited us with open arms to his facility for a variety of trainings over the years, he always had a smile on his face.  As many know he and his son cared deeply about public water and insuring the best for the customers of Rutland City and beyond.  They both represented the best our industry has to offer.
