Important Update: Tetanus Shots

We want to communicate clear information about a public health issue that has been unclear.

You do not need any specific vaccinations to be a volunteer. There is also not a “Flood” vaccine.

However: If you are volunteering in a flood area and you get a deep puncture wound, you need to follow up with your healthcare provider or an Emergency Room to get a tetanus shot.

    I’m glad I happened to have just gotten my tetanus shot though…
