Help Needed and Update: Waterbury

Urgent Need for Specialized Skills and Equipment –  Please come to TBPS (Thatcher Brook) anytime on Sunday between 9 AM and 2 PM, or list your availability on our town “classifieds” site: http://www.waterburyvt.com/flood/

  • Structural Engineer
  • Building Inspectors
  • Electrician
  • Plumber
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Fans
  • Extension cords
  • Respirator mask (for heavy mold odor)
  • Boxes
  • Crow bars

CLOTHING: Please store for later contribution or seek another outlet for these.  Waterbury has no more capacity for accepting clothing, toys, or furniture. Further donations at this time WILL ADD strain to local volunteers and first responders.

FOOD: Our food stocks are quite high right now so we are asking for you to hold off on physical donations for at least 48 hours.  You may continue to donate small bags of non-perishable items to the Food Shelf.  If you would like to donate perishable goods (such as fresh vegetables from your garden) to the Salvation Army, please contact Captain Steve Warren in advance:  (603)339-7367.  Please wait until Monday though as we have a large supply for Sunday and no storage space.

The Salvation Army has taken over emergency food operations and will be operating out of St. Leo’s Hall, behind St. Andrews Church.  Volunteers will continue to be needed to distribute lunches throughout town in the days and weeks to come, if you can make a distribution run around noon on an on-going basis we’d love to sign you up. You can do this by signing up at the volunteer center today at TBPS or posting on the forum,  VTResponse Waterbury Thread.
