Morning Update: Saturday

It’s Saturday morning and things are relatively quiet here at our #btv command center. We’ve received tweets from countless people from all across Central and Southern Vermont who are lifting things, dredging basements, and helping clear debris.

For anyone out there volunteering: thank you. We’re going to be here seven days a week trying to get more of you out there until this mess is cleaned up. We couldn’t do any of this if it weren’t for the people reaching out and getting involved.

Volunteers: while you’re out there get some details from people who need more help. We want to know where they are and what they need. As you’re driving through the state take notice of the towns that seem to be in the worst shape. Get all this stuff on the forum. Starting next week we’ll have someone whose full-time job is combing the forums for just that kind of information.

If you know someone in need of help please have them contact us or contact them on our behalf with a phone number/contact information/location.

This is going to be a process of several weeks. We’re just getting started. I can’t resist quoting Friday Night Lights: “Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can’t lose!”

Be safe out there! More updates soon.

Matt, do you need help in your BTV office today?

A large dairy farm in Rochester needs a pasteurizing machine because they could provide milk to their townspeople. They are pumping and dumping $5000 worth of milk a day instead of sending it t Cabot Cheese. Amy Braun (802) 767-9868
