Killington Transportation Update

Town Meeting

There will be a town meeting tomorrow afternoon, time TBD, that will address FEMA recovery assistance for individuals and businesses as well as other recovery updates

Transportation

Reminder: AOT has officially classified US Route 4 from Bridgewater through Killington to Mendon as closed. However, the Town has worked with AOT, State Police and the Rutland County Sherriff’s office to organize access for tourists to depart and residents to access emergency supplies and essential work needs.

ROUTE 4 WEST from Killington to Rutland

The Bus Service

Marble Valley Regional Transit District has restored the Diamond Express Line for emergencies and working personnel (with only selected stops listed below).

The Bus will run with the schedule below, which will require passengers to walk approximately 1/2 mile through the woods. The shuttle will take passengers to the ends of Journeys End / Helvi Hill Road and a shuttle will pick them up on the other end of the trail to complete the route. The return trip in the afternoon will be the same.

Through Monday, September 5th, the daily bussing schedule will be*

Depart Rutland at 7:15 am and arrive in Killington at 8:15 am

Depart Killington at 8:30 am and arrive in Rutland at 9:30 am

Depart Rutland at 5:15 pm and arrive in Killington at 6:15 pm

Depart Killington at 6:30 pm and arrive in Rutland at 7:30 pm

The Bus will make select stops at:

Killington Grand – Pico Mountain – Mendon Mountainview / Cortina Inn – Panda Pavilion (Rutland) – Transit Center (Rutland)

*Beginning Tuesday, September 6th the schedule will be:

Depart Rutland at 7:45 am and arrive in Killington at 8:45 am

Depart Killington at 9 am and arrive in Rutland at 10 am

Depart Rutland at 5:15 pm and arrive in Killington at 6:15 pm

Depart Killington at 6:30 pm and arrive in Rutland at 7:30 pm

Times are approximate and will depend on conditions.

ROUTE 4 EAST from Killington to Bridgewater

The Town is working with the Rutland County Sheriffs office to organize police escorted caravans in and out of Killington to and from Bridgewater.

-The first escorted caravan will leave Killington today, Saturday, September 3rd at 6pm from River Rd.
-The escorted caravan will return Bridgewater to Killington at 6:45pm.

AOT is discouraging incoming traffic.
