From Rutland Planning Commission:
- Review and update your town’s Basic Emergency Operations Plan with phone numbers of new town officials (many BEOPs are from 2011 and 2010 and are out of date)
- Be mindful of the elderly and of residents who rely on electricity for medical needs
- Clear culverts and storm drains, and remove equipment/materials near streams
- Fill up vehicle and chainsaw fuel tanks; sharpen chainsaws if needed
- Prepare to open a shelter in town and ensure the public knows which building will be used
