General Information: Preparing for Sandy

At this time (Thursday evening), Hurricane Sandy has the potential to threaten Vermont next week with significant rain. While we’ll need to continue to monitor the storm, now is a good time for all Vermonters to start to assess their level of preparedness for a tropical storm event. We will begin to collect and share information starting this evening and post it here much like we did after Irene.

Information can be shared via Twitter @VTResponse using the hashtag #vtsandy or by email vtresponse@yahoo.com. If it becomes necessary, we will reactivate a phone line for use for sharing information or requesting help. We are in the process of upgrading the forums so that potential volunteers can connect if that becomes necessary. An interactive map is also being updated that will consolidate road closure and other information.
